I should have jumped in sooner! I can't speak highly enough about it. A long term colleague in production who was a long time Pro Tools user also raves about it and turned me onto it over a period of a few years. It's built on top of the Ardour open source DAW which it exceptional in itself but the really killer feature is the propriety DSP modelled on their legendary consoles as well as the 'console emulated workflow', which is just unbelievably fluid, fast and powerful (you can break out of it too but just have to be a little careful as it won't hold your hand in terms of latency compensation if you get experimental).

The Harrison message board and facebook user groups are also a very great place to be - customer support is exceptional across the board. V5 only just hit so that'll be valid for a long while and future updates will be $20. I have been trying to uncover the hidden in's and out's for days!!! Much appreciated. That's a FANTASTIC price for a product that I'm massively enthusiastic about. Jgwiii wrote:Figured it out!!!!! Woohoo!!!! It certainly helped me! I've been struggling with this problem for a while and MOTU's TechLink team haven't helped. Note: the MOTU Audio Console must be closed for you to "see" your ins and outs in the Control Panel. Of course all the ADAT channels are available too if the Optical In and Out choices are made on the 828mk2 tab. Now, the following ins and outs are available: (Less efficient)." Uncheck the box "Enable Multi Channel Wave Sychronization (recommended)."

MIXBUS FORUM HOW TO

Well finally after days I figured out how to make all my inputs and outputs available: the appropriate check boxes must be checked/unchecked in the MOTU Audio Console. Splatterbass, if you have all the ins and outs available, please check your control panel as I have described above and tell me what you see.

MIXBUS FORUM DRIVER

I think somehow the driver did not do it's magic and make all the ins and outs available. For me, all my MIDI ports are available (including the MOTU) under the "MIDI Music Playback" drop down. If I click the drop down for "Sound Recording" I get the input devices I have described earlier. If I click the drop down for "Sound Playback" for example, I get the output devices on the MOTU that I have described earlier. If I go to the "Control Panel", under "Sounds and Audio Devices," and click on the "Audio" tab, I see sections for "Sound Playback," "Sound Recording," and "MIDI Music Playback." This should be seen by any XP user. My issue is that not all the 828 inputs and outputs are available.to cakewalk or ANY program in XP. In my case they are all enabled, including my soundcard. Under options I can "see" all the devices I have already talked about. Seems like I should be able to access inputs 3-8 and outputs 3-8.ĭoes anyone know how to enable these in Windows? I have spent alot of time verifying that this data is correct and indeed sound comes and goes exactly as I have stated. MOTU SPDIF (this goes to the SPDIF output jack) MOTU Main Outs (this goes to the 828 Main Outputs) MOTU Analog (this goes to Analog outputs 1&2)

MOTU Phones (this goes to the headphone jack in the front of the 828) MOTU SPDIF (this is anything input into the SPDIF input jack) MOTU Mic-Guitar (this is anything input into the Mic/Guitar inputs on the front of the 828) MOTU Analog (this is anything that is input into analog inputs 1&2) MOTU Mix1 (this is anything that is input into MIX BUS 1 on the MOTU CueMix Console) Here's my problem: When I use ANY software on my computer, including looking in the control panel under audio devices, I only have the following inputs and outputs:

MIXBUS FORUM UPGRADE

I understand this is old software and I intend to upgrade to Sonar 7, but I don't think this is the root of my problem. I am using Pro Audio 8 (old Calkwalk program) as my editting software. I have a 828mkii firewire version that I am running with XP (32 bit version, I think). I'm sure this has come up before but I have scoured this forum with no luck so here goes.
